The World’s Greatest- Darjeeling !

Drinking tea is often believed to result in alm alertness. Tea culture varies from one country to another, it’s also the second most consumed beverage in the world.
Indian tea culture is strong, tea is the most popular hot beverage in the country. It is consumed daily making India the world’s largest tea consuming nation & second largest producer of tea in the world after China.
In 1836, some leaf-type chinese tea was introduced into India by the British in an attempt to break the Chinese monopoly on tea .
A.Campbell brought seeds of Chinese tea from the Kumaun region & experimented with planting tea in Darjeeling .
The Alu Bari tea garden was the first tea garden to be opened in the Darjeeling Hills & Darjeeling tea began to be produced.
Darjeeling tea is grown at an elevation ranging 600 to 2000mts. above sea level , with over 300cm rainfall on average.
Darjeeling Tea is also believed to have some healing properties such as calming one’s mind & body, promotes healthy skin, helps in weight loss, boosts the immune system, prevents heart diseases to name a few.
For someone like me who is born & brought up in Darjeeling, tea is an important part of my daily life , it’s hands down my go-to beverage , especially the ones sourced from the Darjeeling tea gardens as it seems to magically brighten up my spirit with it’s unique blend and exotic taste!
As the Tea Board claims, “Darjeeling Tea is best drunk in porcelain tea-ware without any sugar or milk”.
Darjeeling Tea is not just tea, it’s an experience!
